In what could be a potential boost for Tottenham in their pursuit of Dusan Vlahvoic, CalcioMercato revealed that Juventus have identified a potential alternative to the Fiorentina star.

Antonio Conte a would have asked Tottenham to take over Vlahovic in January. Sources indicate that Fiorentina would like to take advantage of the 21-year-old when the transfer market reopens as the Serie A club don’t expect the forward to renew his contract.

TuttoJuve had previously claimed Juventus feared they would be overtaken by Spurs when signing the center-forward after Conte arrived in north London.

Some publications even claimed that Fiorentina would rather sell the striker to Spurs rather than the Old Lady.

Gazzetta dello Sport then reported last week that Massimiliano Allegri’s side had made an opening bid of € 50million (£ 42.3million) for the Viola star.

However, if the latest CalcioMercato update is to be believed, the old lady has identified Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic as an alternative to the Fiorentina man.

It is explained that the Serie A giants could take a step for Mitrovic in January if they find a deal difficult for his compatriot.

Spurs web opinion

Just because Juve have alternatives in mind for Vlahvoic doesn’t mean they expect to lose the Fiorentina star. I still think the Allianz Stadium will probably be Vlahovic’s next destination, whether he moves in January or next summer.
