The second season of Huma Qureshi-starring political drama “Maharani” has arrived. The multi-season drama tells a fictionalized story, but is inspired by the political upheaval in Bihar in the 1990s when then-Chief Minister Lalu Prasad made his housewife Rabri Devi his successor.

The second season of the series, which sees Huma playing the title character of Rani Bharti, will see Bheema Bharti (played by Sohum Shah) released from prison and clashing with his wife Rani seeking power.
