SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free’s official website received the Grand Prize in the Mobile Web Category and the PC Web Sector at the Korea 2021 Web Awards, organized by the Korea Internet Professional Association.
Web Awards Korea, now in its 18e year, is the Republic of Korea’s most prestigious web evaluation awards program. Over 4,000 Internet professionals select the most innovative and excellent websites each year.
At the awards ceremony yesterday (December 29), the Lotte Duty Free website received the “Best Grand Prize” with the highest rating out of 437 candidate sites in the Mobile Web category. It also won the Grand Prix in the Large Business category for the Web PC category.
Lotte Duty Free revamped its website in September to focus on the company’s sustainability activities externally and to strengthen communication with customers. A major feature of the new look is that the accessibility and readability of information is improved by using images rather than text to strengthen communication with consumers.
Lotte Duty Free has created an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) page on its website to inform the public about the company’s ESG activities and the status of implementation. The content is particularly aimed at the MZ generation of Korea (a pairing of two groups, Millennial born 1981-1985 and Generation Z, born 1996-2005).
Lee Sang-jin, Head of Marketing at Lotte Duty Free, said, “It is gratifying that our efforts to reduce the distance with Lotte Duty Free customers around the world are recognized. “
Success after success
Lotte Duty Free was also one of the big winners of the recent Moodies Travel Journey Digital Awards, the leading social and digital commerce and retail communications awards.
Their online store was named a winning retailer in the Best Website or Microsite Use category. It also took home the Retailer Award in the Best Video Use category with the brilliant We Want A Duty Free Life campaign featuring BTS.
In another success, Lotte Duty Free was the Duty Free Downtown (along with LuxeMall and LuxeMall Live) winner in the Best E / M Commerce category, which recognizes the most efficient use of e-commerce and mobile to achieve a specific marketing result.
Lotte Duty Free again topped the Best Digital Use for Internal Audiences / Employee Engagement with its 30th Family Concert (held online due to the pandemic).
The retailer’s smart store also won a Moodies Award for Best Creativity and Innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
