According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are preparing an offer for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
With just over two days until the window slams shut, Tottenham have yet to sign a single signature or move their deadwood.
The Telegraph reported on Friday that the Spurs hierarchy were in a state of panic after their legal action against Adama Traore and Luis Diaz failed, with the north London club now preparing a move to sign Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski .
The Mail also backed the Telegraph’s claim that Spurs are panicking over their inability to bring in their targets.
The report reveals that apart from Kulusevski, Spurs are also planning to make a late bid for Luiz. The North London club are reportedly set to offer Aston Villa £32m for the Brazilian.
However, The Mail add that even Spurs’ pursuit of Luiz is set to fail as Steven Gerrard is keen to retain the 23-year-old.

Whether the Spurs hierarchy panic or not, it stands to reason that Paratici and Conte will likely have arrived at a target list for each position, depending on which deal proves feasible.
Thus, Kulusevski could have been the backup they identified for Diaz. Likewise, Luiz could be an alternative for Sofyan Amrabat or potentially the other way around.
