New updates are added at the bottom of this story …….
The original story (published November 17, 2021) follows:
No matter how much you hate WhatsApp, it is without a doubt the most popular messaging app in the world. With over 2 billion active users, the Meta-owned service is used in more than 180 countries around the world.
With developers releasing new features every few months, WhatsApp users frequently encounter bugs and issues with the service, some of which render a bunch of features completely useless until fixed.
In July of this year, the company announced that it would allow WhatsApp users to log in through multiple devices at once, something other apps like Telegram had already had for some time.
However, unlike Telegram, WhatsApp decided to limit the multi-device connection feature to just 4 devices, which is quite ironic as the feature has the word “multi” in its name.
Last week, the developers appear to have rolled out the new feature to a group of users running the beta version of the app. But WhatsApp users are now report that they cannot connect to the WhatsApp web.
Hello guys, we are using WhatsApp for our business. We have over 20,000 discussions. after being forced to connect as a multice device, our whatsapp desktop / web connection no longer works. It doesn’t connect at all. I have a suspicion because we have a lot of cats. Does anyone have any advice?
Hello everyone, I cannot connect to whatsapp web. Today I received a notification telling me to update WhatsApp Web so that I can have WhatsApp online without having to log in from my smartphone. Since I updated the site, I can no longer log in. The site displays the same message and continues to get blocked. Anyone know what can be happening or how to fix this?
Many are angry that the update completely broke the functionality for those who wanted to use WhatsApp on their browsers or secondary devices.
The only workaround to the problem at this time is to quit beta testing and move to the stable channel. While it’s understandable that the beta has a few issues, those who have switched without knowing it are now confused and wondering how to fix it.
Fortunately, the developers of WhatsApp seem to be aware of the problem. However, they haven’t shared an ETA on when this will be fixed.
In the meantime, if you need to use the WhatsApp web and have no other option, we recommend that you leave the beta channel of WhatsApp and join it after the web connection issue is resolved for good.
As always, we’ll be keeping an eye on the issue and updating this article as needed.
